Concert at the Cystic Fibrosis Society's Christmas Party

Written by Petra Schulz, translated by Wolfgang Seifert.

We had had to cancel last year's Christmas concert due to a scheduling conflict, but this year, despite the short notice, the performance was able to take place at last.

So on December 1st, the First Advent, we tried to give children with cystic fibrosis and their parents a taste of Christmas.

We were given a warm welcome, and after we had warmed up our voices too in the staircase of the Tucher Restaurant, we finally started.

The rather narrow room provided an almost familiar atmosphere that emphasized the spirit of Christmas. Although all songs were sung in English, the audience eagerly joined in. On our list were for instance Christmas in Killarney, Lord of the Dance, or Silent Night.

In the children's gleaming eyes we could see the shine of the candles mirrored as they listened intently or clapped to the rhythm.

All in all it was a successful evening, during which we served not only as an item in the programme but were also invited guests.

Many thanks to the organisers for their hospitality and the delicious buffet!
