Concert in Rehberge - almost a déjà-vu
Our second concert at the open air theatre Rehberge on June 16th concluded our first term and the Celtic Choir now went on summer break.
Unlike last year, Peter was gracious and after it poured down constantly since the early morning the rain had stopped right before the concert, so this time we could even perform on stage rather than in the adjacent wood shed.
Approximately 30-40 spectators came to the open-air theater, which offers at least 3,000 seats, to listen to our songs and the sounds of guitar and accordion. After everybody closed ranks and the audience was provided with lyrics to sing along we were ready to get started: accompanied by joyful twittering of birds we sang known as well as less familiar songs, from the popular song "Molly Malone" and the fiery "Ye Jacobites" to the wistful "Will you go, Blackbird". In chorus with the audience we finished the concert with the contemplative "Evening Rise" .
A special thanks to our wonderful musicians who have sacrificed their spare time to rehearse the program on short notice and thus made the concert in this form possible at all!
